A Message From Olivia Jones
Hello everybody!
Thank you for the overwhelming support with my next move.
There were several factors that played a role in my decision to transfer to Westtown, but of course, academics were a major consideration.
At Cedar Cliff, I challenged myself with honors courses as well as several dual enrollment courses where I earned college and high school credit, simultaneously. With this rigorous coursework, I was ranked third in my class at CC, and received offers from academically selective colleges such as Harvard and Columbia. Transferring to a prestigious prep school such as Westtown, whose academic reputation and commitment to college preparation aligns perfectly with my ambitions, felt like a natural next step in my preparation for college and life. Aside from the exceptional academic environment, I must admit there was an attraction to Westtown due to its strong basketball program.
The school's tradition of producing exceptional athletes, and ability to provide unmatched training opportunities presented an ideal place for me to further develop my basketball skills.
The chance to learn from experienced coaches while practicing daily with like minded teammates, and several being D1 recruits, provides a highly competitive athletic opportunity that I simply couldn't pass up on.
It helps that a few of my AAU teammates also play at Westtown so I have connections there, but while at CC, most of my friends were seniors and they will be heading off to college this fall.
For me, I believe this transfer represents a commitment to both academic and athletic growth, and I am confident that it will pave the way for a more promising future in both areas.
I want to end off by saying thank you to every single person who has had a part in my growth and development at Cedar Cliff. To all of my coaches, teammates, classmates, and teachers at Cedar Cliff who have helped me to develop into the person and player I am today. Especially the community for the tremendous outpouring of support, and encouragement during these past two years.
I can’t thank each of you enough for the endless care, compassion and attention shown to us all season. Your support has meant so much to my coaches and teammates but especially to me.
You will always hold a special place in my heart as a community who has turned into my extended family.
