Westtown standout, 2025 recruit Olivia Jones commits to Harvard

HARRISBURG, PA -- One of the most decorated girls basketball players in the mid-state is off the board after Olivia Jones announced that she has committed to the Harvard Crimson, per Jones Friday.

She chose the Cambridge based university over Columbia, Penn and Princeton

"My first phone call with Coach (Carrie) Moore I felt the connection and love right away." Jones said. "She was super energetic, outgoing and when I was introduced to the rest of the staff, I felt the same love and energy from all of them. When I first got onto campus, I really enjoyed my time and it genuinely felt like home. Academically, it doesn’t get better than Harvard. Ivy League schools work with Westtown with placing kids, as that was a factor in the move a year ago, but Harvard was ultimately the best choice."

The incoming senior held an event at Jawns On Fire Sneaker Boutique, where she is a part of their Sneaker Athlete Ambassador Program, to verbally announce her commitment alongside family, friends and media.

Throughout the last three years, the 5-foot-10 forward has contributed towards a 84-5 record playing with the Cedar Cliff Colts and Westtown Moose, while scoring over 1,000 plus points and snatching over 700 rebounds. She has also captured two Mid-Penn Conference championships, the 2023 District 3 6A championship, featured in two 6A final fours and one PIAA championship appearance through two years with the Colts, but most recently earned a FSL championship and a PAISAA state championship this past season with Westtown.

Jones is additionally a longtime RPN prospect and brand ambassador since 2021.

She joins Carrie Moore’s program that posted a 16-12 record last season.
